Connect an AI assistant

TerraCraft works as an MCP server, so assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor can design trees, grass, forests and textures for you. Everything they create lands in your Saved list, ready to open in the studio.

Connection settings

Server URL: https://textureforge.app/mcp
The address your assistant connects to.
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Pick “HTTP” or “remote” when asked.
Authentication: OAuth (automatic)
No API key needed. You sign in with your TerraCraft account and approve access.
Server name: terracraft
Any name works; this is what the examples use.

Setup by assistant

Claude (web or desktop)

Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Paste https://textureforge.app/mcp as the URL and save.
Click Connect, sign in and approve.

ChatGPT

Open Settings → Connectors (developer mode) → Create.
Use https://textureforge.app/mcp and choose OAuth.
Sign in and approve when prompted.

What your assistant can do

`list_catalog`	Lists the 44 texture materials and tree and grass species.
`create_tree`	Saves a tree: species, height, trunk, branches, leaves and seed.
`create_grass`	Saves grass or fern clumps with size and density.
`create_forest`	Saves a forest plot mixing tree species and ground cover.
`generate_texture`	Generates a seamless AI texture (uses AI credits, up to a minute).
`describe_image`	Examines a photo and writes a texture prompt you can pass to generate_texture (uses AI credits).
`list_saved_generations`	Lists your saved items, newest first.
`get_saved_generation`	Shows the settings of one saved item.
`delete_saved_generation`	Permanently deletes a saved item.
`export_generation_assets`	Downloads Unity-ready files for a saved item: full PBR texture sets (albedo, normal, height, AO, roughness), FBX meshes, RAW heightmaps.

Privacy and good to know

The assistant only sees and changes your own saved work.
You can revoke access anytime by disconnecting it in your assistant.
Bark, leaf, grass and forest-floor materials are added in the studio.
Texture generation can take up to a minute; check Saved before retrying.
